I heard Janesville Gazette Editor Scott Angus mention a story in the paper today about the Janesville couple who competed in the Wisconsin Ironman challenge. The competition includes a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bicycle ride and if that's not enough, a 26.2 mile marathon run.

I didn't think much of it at the time until I read Ken Veloskey's piece about the Wimmers. Unbelievable I thought. An overweight couple, who together have lost a combined 331 pounds! Having battled weight issues all my life, I know how tough it can be when your heavy. I also know how tough it is to lose those extra pounds. I'm proud of myself for dropping 50 pounds and working out regularly, but I've got a long way to go.

Mike and Jenny have inspired me to keep working hard and believe in myself! I doubt if I'll run any marathons, or compete in any ironman competitions soon, but I'm going to keep working hard.

Mike and I went to school together. I haven't talked to him in a long time, but I'll be looking him up to congratulate him and his wife and maybe get some advice. Mike and Jenny Wimmer, you are WINNERS!

Thanks a lot. Glad to see you have made it in radio. You have one of the best voices and radio personalities out there. Keep up the good work.
Good times back in the 80's for sure.
