Let 'em off the Hook

Let 'em off the Hook

Packer coach Mike McCarthy may want to borrow a few lines from Dennis Green following that tough loss at Tennessee last Sunday.Green had one of my favorite melt downs 2 years ago when he coached the Arizona Cardinals. It was following a Monday night loss to the Chicago Bears when Green blew up during the post game press conference. Arizona had the Bears beat, but as good teams do, they find ways to win and Chicago did just that. Just like the Titans found a way to win to stay undefeated against the Packers last Sunday.

During those memorable moments Green said: "The Bears are who we thought they were and we let them off the hook!" I still get a laugh out of Denny when I hear it on ESPN or other sports outlets. It fits last weeks game as the Packers had Tennessee on the ropes, but couldn't seal the deal. The Titans were who the Packers thought they were. A well coached team that isn't flashy, but effective. They are tough on defense and capable of running the ball on offense with ease. Green Bay knew that and had a great game plan that came up short. Too bad it was football and not horse shoes or hand grenades!

Once again the brain trust in green bay has shown it should be replaced.Brett would never have lost that game by giving up 2 safties. I don't understand why we keep a punter that can't punt. And then of course we have the wounderful zone blocking sceme that has pretty much proven it does not work. I'll be making my call to Mark Murphy this week to see what little tid bits I can get from him I'm sure it won't be much, but he will atleast know how some of us feel about the way things are going.
