Alternate I-90 Route

Alternate I-90 Route

By Ken Scott ( Contact )   June 13, 2008

As we're talking about on WJVL I-90/39 is closed north of USH 151 to the Dells area. Here's the alternate route to travel if you're going North this weekend.

USH 151 North to STH23 East to I43 North to STH29 West, which should return you to I-90/39.

There's more information at www.DOT.State.WI.US/travel

Good luck and drive carefully!

Not fun at all! We came home from Eagle River last night. Normally a 4 hour drive. Took us just over 6 1/2 hours. We exited Hwy 51 to Hwy 23 (just N. of Portage) toward Wisconsin Dells. What a mess. Hwy 23 to Hwy 14. 14 back to Madison. Heavy traffic! And my poor sister and her family and trying to find their way back to Iowa today.

That is quite a detour. Takes you up through Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Green Bay, Wausau, Chippewa Falls, and Eau Claire/Menomonie.
