Weekend Roundup

Weekend Roundup

By Justin Brown ( Contact )   January 25, 2010

Just another Monday! Hi! How are you on this cold Monday afternoon? I hope you had a good weekend. The weather was sure nice. Temperature wise anyway. But that will change the next few days. Back to winter.

Saturday morning I got my oil changed at F&F Tire and then I did some errands including a stop at Farm & Fleet picking up some ice fishing stuff I needed. I went out with a couple buddies Saturday afternoon. We went fishing near Monona on the Yahara River. We didn't get any flags on our tip-ups until just before dark. Then we had several within 5 minutes of each other.

Saturday night I brought home Rocky Rococo Pizza for dinner. (makes up for me off playing with the boys ice fishing). We ate our pizza while watching the Wisconsin Badgers Men's Hockey team skate past #1 ranked Denver!

Sunday morning I went out ice fishing again with my buddy. This time we tried Turtle Lake between Whitewater and Delavan. It was our 1st time out there. We didn't catch a thing. We did see a few guys having some luck closer to shore catching some pan-fish with thier jig-poles. I'll have to keep this lake in mind this summer when I'm looking for a place to take Mallory with her "Mickey Pole." I think the dock right out front of the Turtle Lake Inn might be good. Have you ever fished there? Any hot spots?

Sunday afternoon, Mary, Mallory and me found a corner on Milton Avenue with our American flags, and welcomed home the troops of Company A. It was very cool! Seeing the Fire trucks and police cars escorting the 2 buses down Milton Avenue gave me goosebumps. I hope the guys and gals on those buses felt the same. "Welcome Home!"

Sunday evening was spent rooting for the ol' gunslinger. Brett Favre. I'm very disappointed it ended the way it did. I wanted nothing more than Brett to end up in the big game with one more chance. But as he said, regardless, he'll be going out on top. It's easy to play the Monday Morning Quarterback pointing out mistakes and things he/they should have done. But it wasn't meant to be. So...now I'll be jumping on the Saint's bandwagon. At least for the next 2 weeks.

Have a great afternoon.

.
Dang! I wish they were still in Janesville. Yum!!
.
I've lost my train of thought just thinking about pizza.
Oh, yeah! Of course I watched both games yesterday. I was rooting for the Colts in the first and of course, I was rooting for the Saints in the 2nd game. Go Saints!!!
