Flag Facts
Many of us fly the flag at Memorial Day, but do you have all the facts on the proper way to do so? I found this very interesting and I never knew it before.
American Flags.Com urges all Americans to fly an American flag at half-staff on Monday in honor of Memorial Day.
According to the U.S. Flag Code, the United States flag should be hoisted to the top of a flagpole for an instant and then lowered to half-staff until noon, before being returned to the top of the staff for the rest of the day.
Those without a vertical flagpole may affix a black mourning bow to their home flag kits instead of lowering the flag.
Have a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend and remember the men and women of our armed forces. Past & Present. They are the real reason for our "day off."
Fly the flag!
