Tim your blog was like reading it from a music critic in a magazine. Way to put it out there! If it weren't for Big Red first starting to play dale I don't think i'd know who Dale Watson was either. Now to break up the same LOOP of "singers under 40 usually" it's nice to here you and Jason also throw in the mix. I think I have almost every Dale Watson CD there is now and you guys are so right. His sad songs can bring a tear to your eye because he writes such emotion. Then the next song is a fun luvin' truckin song. I'm sure if Johnny Cash were around he'd have made country radio pay attention to Dale and get play time where credit is due. I am confused with one new song by The Bellamy Brothers......Don't get me wrong I like it alot.... But if you can play they're NEW stuff at regular times then why cant we hear The new stuff by Dwight Yokum and Vince Gill was up for country album of the year last year. Why don't you put it up to the listeners to decide if they want to hear Dale Watson?....like you did for the dixie chicks( Goodbye Earl)? By the way I keep hearing "PURE COUNTRY" for WJVL's jingle. I believe they need to find time to fit more "PURE COUNTRY" in than on no repeat Thurs. and Sundays 'til 5.!!!

(THE LITTLE DRUMMER BOY)is really the one that can bring a tear to my eyes though.

I'm with you TIMBO 110%. My computer was down for a few days just when I was going to voice my opinion. So if I may this is what I have to say about this issue.
First I'm confused...WJVL plays the jingle "Pure Country!" yet you play alot of Bon Jovi along with John Melloncamp,Bob Seger and the Eagles.
I want to know where's the over 40's artists? Unless their name is George Strait,Reba,Brooks and Dunn or Martina Mcbride.
I believe Johnny Cash best songs were on his last few cds. Where's the other Great ones? The Hag is going strong and the only way I hear Dwights new one is if I get lucky and see it on CMT. Hal Ketchum is still putting out quality music but I had to find that out once I went to his website. T.Graham Brown had the largest selling country cd back a few years ago and I find out he was still putting out new music just by chance when I went to "The Country Gold Show" at the Belvideere fair. Last but definitely not least if it weren't for Big Red show the listeners would never have been exposed to Dale Watson an awesome singer and song writer.
Thanks to Big Reds show we get to still hear what I believe is "PURE COUNTRY!"
